The UNM-Taos IT Department invites applicants to apply for the full-time position of Sr. IT Support Tech. The successful candidate will take the lead with our Help Desk operations; have a broad technological background with experience in end user hardware and software support for Windows and Mac OS X PC's, mobile platforms and basic A/V user support.
The UNM-Taos help desk offers end user support to faculty in the classrooms with educational technology, faculty and staff end users with hardware, software and basic networking issues, and students in our labs and with public facing computers.
The successful candidate will be detail oriented, have a background in customer service and able to assume the following duties:
1)Supervise UNM-Taos Help Desk operations. Take lead in developing training for other support personnel and student employees.
2)Act as the Point person for the development of various computer images used in UNM-Taos operations and coordinate image deployment with the systems analyst.
3)Maintain competency on integration of classroom A/V and other classroom technology with UNM-Taos IT systems.
4)Maintain Help Desk Contact records. Identify areas that can be addressed with training.
5)Manage maintenance of end user desktops and laptops.

SYSTEMS ANALYST 2 (Posting #0827450)
Work Location: UNM Taos Campus
The UNM-Taos IT department is current accepted applications for the position of System Analyst 2. The Systems Analyst 2 will manage and maintain servers and server applications for the branch, will be responsible for a variety of servers with various operating systems including Windows Server 2008, 2008 R2, Mac OS X Server and Linux Server platforms.Testing and implementing back up and disaster recovery plans, monitoring server system logs for application and OS stability and security and installation and maintenance of applications required by various UNM-Taos departments. The position will also be involved in managing the Active Directory OU for the Taos Branch.
The successful candidate must also possess a broad general IT background and be able to act as a third tier support to back up Taos end-user support staff. Experience with network switches, routers, firewalls and access points is desirable.
The Successful candidate will be expected to assume the following duties:
1)Maintain all UNM-Taos File and application server operating systems, maintain updates and test system patches.
2)Manage UNM-Taos Backup server and disaster recovery.
3)Coordinate server application deployment with End-users, identify objectives and requirements, and act as Project Manager for tasks requiring server based applications.
4)Manage, maintain and administer applications at a system level.
5)Act as the IT contact for projects involving servers, and server based applications.
6)Develop a schedule for the review of all system logs and network logs where applicable, to monitor system health and security.

Minimum
Qualifications:
Successful completion of at least 60 college-level credit hours in a directly related Technical field; at least 3 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
OR
High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Preferred
Qualifications:
College degree
Background in customer service.
Demonstrated help desk supervisory experience
Strong knowledge of Windows 7 and Mac OS X 10.6 and higher in a Windows Domain
Demonstrated experience with support for mobile devices, basic networking knowledge
Knowledge of Audio Visual Systems and classroom technology.
SYSTEMS ANALYST 2 (Posting #0827450)

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree; at least 2 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
OR
Successful completion of at least 60 college-level credit hours; at least 4 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
OR
High school diploma or GED; at least 6 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Preferred
Qualifications:
1.College degree
2.Strong experience supporting server systems.
3.Experience with Windows, Linux/Unix and Mac servers
4.Broad exposure to different types of application platforms (Examples include Database Server installation and maintenance, experience with streaming media platforms, and experience with directory services.)
5.Experience with configuration and management of network hardware
6.Experience with DNS and DHCP network server applications is a must.
